How to Synchronize a Facebook Cover Photo
with a Facebook Profile Photo

You can now “upload” to Facebook your original “180x180-profile-photo.png” file—that will be “resized” to “160x160 pixels” by Facebook—and then upload your new Facebook Cover photo, that will maintain its “851x315 pixels” measurements, as Facebook does not alter the dimensions of an uploaded “851x315-pixels” regulation-size Cover photo.

Optional-Instructions One: How to add an “image” that displays across both the Cover photo and Profile photo

Back on Page Two, after you had “deleted” the “blue background” of the “958x380.png” Rectangular-Template from the “1260x1260 pixels” square image, and before “cropping” an area “180x180 pixels” in size immediately to the right of the “23x180 pixels” reference-rectangle, you could have chosen to add an “image” of some sort just to the right of the “23x180 pixels” reference-rectangle, that would display across both the Cover and Profile photos.

You can see that the added scarecrow-image above fits within the “width” of the “180x180 pixels” cropping-area, and extends up beyond the “height” of the cropping-area, onto what will become the Cover photo. Notice that the scarecrow’s feet almost touch the bottom of the “180x180 pixels” cropping-area.

A few steps later, when you “crop” the “851x315 pixels” Cover photo from the “1120x1120 pixels” square image, remember to match the lower-left corner of the “851x315 pixels” rectangular-area to be cropped, with the lower-left-hand corner of the upper “138-pixels” section of your “20x160 pixels” reference-rectangle.
